HAPPY NEW YEAR! 2008 is here!
Out with the old GST rate and in with the new 5%! We've already taken advantage of the lower GST as we just got back from Denny's about 45 minutes ago. It sure was packed for a Monday night! We didn't go anywhere for New Year's Eve. Ray's schedule is backwards so he didn't get up until just before midnight. Plus I'm still fighting the fatigue and a bit of congestion from my cold. I stifled the urge to take a nap at about 8 or so since I need to try and go to bed earlier Tuesday night and a nap will mean I'll just stay up later tonight. Tonight was the first time I'd been out since Friday. I think this is the first New Year's Eve we've stayed home since we moved here 5 years ago. But we had friends over then and didn't notice all the fireworks going off. So it was nice to watch all the different fireworks going off. Much more spectacular than at Halloween.
Out with the old supposedly cancerous Nalgene bottles, and in with the new MEC Thermos stainless steel 1 litre Vacuum Bottle and metallic blue 500 ml Thermos Thermax Hydration Bottle. I haven't gotten around to washing them yet but if I like the 500 ml bottle I'll probably go back and get the red metallic one too.

- Hi, welcome to my world! In October, 2006 I walked my first half marathon in Victoria. By raising $4500 for the Arthritis Society I was able to walk my first full marathon in Honolulu in December. In 2007 and 2008 I raised $300 each year for the BC Cancer Foundation's Underwear Affair (for cancers below the waist). It's a 10km run/5km walk - I walked and the fundraising minimum was $300. The walk was late in the afternoon (yee ha) and afterwards there was a party with dancing and prizes for best costumes! There were a lot of brave people in their skivvies!

Let me know how you like the stainless steel bottles. Quite the drastic move for MEC to pull all of their Nalgene bottles. They've been a staple there for years now.
